diy-pumpkin-playdough

Why not try this idea with the kids in Halloween school break! This recipe makes use of the pumpkin bits you may have left over after carving your spooky lantern! Make use of every part! And you can even save some of the seeds as natural dough decorations!

Pumpkin Recipe

1 cup flour

1/2 cup salt

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 tablespoon of any food-based oil (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil)

1 cup of juiced pumpkin squash

Method

Use a juicer to squish a cupful of pumpkin, add to a suacepan on a low heat.Add the salt, oil, cream of tartar and flour. Stir until you get passed the ‘sticky goo’ stage! Tadah!

⭐️Top Tip⭐️

I nearly gave up thinking that this sticky stage was going on too long- but stick with it ( ignore the pun🤣!) and it will start to mould into a ball.

Pumpkin playdough does last a while but you will notice this does dry out quicker than normal dough. Just wet hands with water to mould back .

Plus-don’t forget your wooden playdough tools– you can purchase this set from Playberry available on www.playberry.co.uk!
